To provide a high standard of electrical maintenance support for all of Blount’s PDX Metro buildings and facilities. To support Maintenance, Production, Engineering and Facility Departments. To maintain a safe working environment is of paramount importance.                                                                                                                            



  • Building control systems, which includes system requirement evaluation, panel design, layout, wiring, installation and system debug
  • Read, understand, revise, and maintain electrical schematic documentation
  • Redlining schematics, following departmental procedures, in order to maintain documentation to current standards and reflect machine as-built configuration
  • Continual research of new technologies, along with its application to the manufacturing equipment in the endeavor of continual improvement
  • Keep current with new technologies and products as they become available. Adapting them to our processes, with an emphasis on safety, productivity, service and profitability
  • Perform all task with an emphasis on safety
  • Follow all NEC, NFPA, OSHA and Oregon State electrical standards
  • Maintain state electrical license
  • Available to work on site as required by job 
  • Maintaining clean work areas, organizing files for documentation, maintain software and parts lists
  • Trouble shooting, repairing and maintaining, manufacturing equipment including, AC/DC drives, servo drives, PLC’s, and high energy R.F. generators
  • Installing, calibrating and maintaining process control devices such as temperature controllers, counters, timers, weight and speed monitoring devices
  • Repairing lighting and power outlets
  • Performing general electrical maintenance activities
  • Installing cable for all of the plants telephone and computer needs
  • General construction work; Installing conduit, wireways and busways, for all of the plants power distribution requirements
  • Repairing systems as deemed necessary



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and an Oregon State “Limited Journeyman Manufacturing Plant” Electrical License or higher (State law requires yearly classes to maintain electrical licenses)
  • Factory provided training classes in automated manufacturing equipment a plus (i.e. PLC’s, Robotics, Lasers, AC/DC Drives and/or CNC’s)      
  • Additional factory training classes in high tech. manufacturing equipment as required, fully trained on maintaining and repairing the electrical systems on Blount custom built manufacturing equipment



  • At least 5 years in Industrial Manufacturing Electrical field. Electrical and Electronic Control system trouble-shooting skills in variable frequency drives, PLC’s and/or related  areas
  • Control panel requirement evaluation, design and fabrication also a plus
  • Annual class certification to keep up with state mandated continual education requirements
  • Continual improvement of troubleshooting skills, knowledge and experience with the high-tech manufacturing equipment in the plant is a must
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Must possess the ability to read blueprint (schematic) and provide electrical/electronic maintenance support for all manufacturing equipment and our facilities
  • Extensive industrial electrical controls troubleshooting and problem solving skills with an emphasis on customer service
  • Demonstrated skills in continuous learning, flexibility, customer focus, quality commitment and good relationships (teamwork) are required
  • Able to operate hand tools (power tools, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.)
  • Utilize test equipment (digital voltage meter, current meter, etc.)
  • Able to operate high lift equipment or fork lift

  •   Must be available for all of the following shifts (rotating shift schedule):
  •   Day shift: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  •   Swing shift:  4:00 p.m. to midnight
  •   Graveyard shift:  Midnight to 7:30 a.m.
