BUSINESS CONTRIBUTION:

The Corporate Development & Strategy Associate facilitates the development and execution of Blount’s long-term growth strategy, including strategic planning, operating initiatives, and acquisitions.  Day-to-day responsibilities include analytics and project leadership for cross-functional teams that analyze, and present high priority projects, such as the due diligence, valuation and financial modeling, and execution of M&A and corporate development related opportunities.

 

This position is a member of Office of the CEO and reports to the Director of Corporate Development & Strategy.  In this role you will work with each functional head, including the CEO, COO, and all Senior Vice Presidents, on a daily basis to complete critical special projects.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures execution and analyses; maintaining and monitoring of M&A targets; valuation and market analysis; ad hoc analysis; and competitor and opportunity reporting
  • Strategic planning to include supporting senior leadership on top initiatives, project sponsor support, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
  • Work with cross-functional teams for quarterly reporting, analysis, and presentation to the Board of Directors
  • Corporate Communications to include the development of internal and external messaging, global communication strategy, and coordination of various communication channels (graphics, images, digital, video) that align with business objectives and key messages
  • Support of various corporate initiatives

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance or economics, required
  • MBA Preferred 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of 2 years in investment banking, private equity, consulting, accounting, or a related field, preferably with meaningful merger and acquisition experience
  • Proven ability to conduct industry and business research and synthesize into useful information
  • Demonstrated ability to use corporate finance, accounting, and valuation principles to complete quantitative and qualitative analyses and financial models
  • Superior writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Detail oriented; commitment to accuracy, quality
  • Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional team activities and provide project management support
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Outstanding attitude, including initiative, judgment, and sense of humor
  • Collaborative and effective team player and able to work with teams who are globally dispersed
  • Set a good example of personal integrity
  • Demonstrate ability and willingness to learn; seek out development activities to improve skills and increase knowledge; learn from other team members and own mistakes
  • Available to work on site as required by job; eligible for domestic and international travel several times per year up to two weeks’ in duration
